Senior System Engineer

Tasks – Responsibilities

  • Deploy multi-layer software architectures
  • Operate, optimize, and maintain databases
  • Perform integration tasks within enterprise architectures (directory services, backup, monitoring, HA, DR)
  • Troubleshoot operational issues reported by clients
  • Participate in planning preventive operational activities and developing processes
  • Assist in setting up client-shared testing environments
  • Prepare deployment and operational training materials, manuals, logs, and documentation

Expectations

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT or a relevant technical field
  • Minimum 8–10 years of relevant work experience
  • Understanding of enterprise architectures (directory services, virtualization, application servers, databases, backup, monitoring, SSO, SOA)
  • In-depth knowledge of IBM DB2 database management
  • Experience with IBM WebSphere application server
  • Knowledge of server operating system administration (e.g., Linux, AIX, Windows)
  • Familiarity with some cluster services (Pacemaker+Corosync, TSAMP, MS Cluster)
  • Professional (IT) English language skills
  • Ability to work independently, accurately, and precisely
  • Strong communication skills
  • Openness to learning new things
  • Systems-thinking and analytical mindset

Would be an advantage

  • Manufacturer certifications
  • Knowledge of other database systems (MSSQL, Oracle)
  • IBM FileNet, Content Manager, Datacap, BAW knowledge
  • Java application servers (e.g., WebLogic, JBoss)
  • File servers (GlusterFS, GPFS, NFS, SMB)
  • Deep PKI knowledge
  • Experience designing and operating Docker / OpenShift / Kubernetes systems
  • Willingness to be on-call
