Transactional Analysis in Everyday Communication

At our internal communication training on Friday afternoon, we looked at how we talk to each other, why a conversation sometimes takes a wrong turn and how we can steer it back on track. Our goal was to avoid conflict while still getting our message across effectively.

At Barre, we continuously develop not only our technical knowledge but our other skills as well, because it is important to us to be well prepared for our clients in every situation and to work as efficiently as possible. Good communication is at the heart of this.

According to transactional analysis, a conversation is a series of exchanges, or transactions. During the afternoon, we explored what makes a dialogue flow smoothly, what role tone of voice plays, how we react to different everyday situations and how we could handle them more effectively.

Alongside the learning, the afternoon was full of conversation, personal examples, a great atmosphere and delicious pogácsa.
